An exciting hike through the hills of the Barolo Langa wrapped in a bewitching autumn atmosphere… discovering a thousand-year history and an enchanting landscape.
Starting from the historic center of La Morra, after admiring the extraordinary panorama from the Belvedere square, the trails wind through the territory’s most prized vineyards.
Brunate, Cerequio and others are sub-zones with privileged soils and exposures: on these hills are born the generous Barolos appreciated by those who love age-worthy yet supple wines.
After crossing the panoramic hamlet of Cerequio along a scenic path through the vineyards, we will reach the Barolo Chapel, whose vivid colors stand out in the autumn mists.
The route crosses the hamlet of Annunziata, once an important monastic center, and continues onto the Monfalletto hill, where within the Cordero di Montezemolo estates one can admire the legendary cedar of Lebanon, a promise and bastion of love, planted in 1856 on the occasion of a wedding.
Following the path at the foot of Bricco San Biagio, a round hillock, the hamlet of Santa Maria is reached and the return is made via a scenic loop route.
From this corner of Langa the view sweeps over the infinite sea of hills of Langa, Roero and Alta Langa.
A highly scenic loop route recommended for those who love photography, nature and savoring the fascinating autumn atmospheres on the UNESCO World Heritage hills.
At the end of the hike, a tasting of the great wines produced on these magnificent hills is absolutely recommended.
