In the castles of Langhe and Roero and beyond, narrated tours® given by the ancient inhabitants of the manors: guides and performers in costume give voice to stories, legends, and curiosities of an ancient land.
A true journey through time that ends with a wine tasting offered by local producers.
Surrounded by the deep and characteristic “rocche”, geological formations marked by spires and cliffs, the castle of Monteu Roero stands on the high hill that gave the town its name (originally “Monte Acuto”).
The visit will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the ancient and suggestive atmosphere of the castle, setting it in the years rich in internal quarrels within the Roero family, the last of which, in 1663, led to the complete renovation of the noble chapel by Michele Roero di Monteu, meeting the hostility of Count Galeazzo Roero.
At the end of the tour, it will be possible to taste the wines of the producers of Monteu Roero.
For the visite narrate®, the Terre Alte Association offers a trekking route around the castle.
