Milan
Modern and international city: everybody knows Milan, if not in person, at least of fame!
In about a couple of hours by car from the Langhe you can reach Milan. The main international airports of northern Italy (Malpensa and Linate) are to be found there, so probably everyone knows Milan because of landing there with the plane.
But if you have travelled to the Langhe by car, or driving through the Alps, you might like discovering the second Italian city, famous for its fashion and its buzz.
Visit the famous Dome and walk up to the top to see the Madonnina statue – the symbol of Milan, stroll under the gallery Vittorio Emanuele, rich in luxury shops of the most famous fashion brands, or still visit the Novecento museum and walk in Brera quarter to breath the atmosphere of the fashion district.
Make some shopping in the most famous shops of the city centre. The air you will breathe is the one of a big international city, merging with people of the most different nationalities.
Enjoy an afternoon in Parco Sempione by visiting the Castello Sforzesco. Stroll from the Colonne di San Lorenzo till the Navigli, the small rivers running through the city, and enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
If you prefer the nature feeling, visit the nearby Lake of Como, a real pearl housed by hills and mountains at the border with Switzerland, just an hour by car from Milan.
