On the occasion of the Sagra della Lumaca, the festival that takes place during this summer period in Govone, Terre Alte offers you a pleasant walk on the evocative and panoramic hills in the south-eastern sector of Roero.
And at the end, for those who wish, delicious dishes, good wine, beer and music to dance to at the foot of the Castle
Departing in the late afternoon from the area where the trails marked by the Ecomuseo delle Rocche and the municipality begin, we will cross a silent and secluded valley that will lead us to the Sentiero dei Castelli.
We find ourselves on the gentle hills of Roero that look, to the east to the course of the Tanaro river, and, to the west to the innermost part of the “Fini Inferiori.”
The landscape is gentle and varied and at sunset the green meadows light up with warm and intense colors. We will close the loop crossing a bucolic landscape, among vineyards, meadows and orchards, enjoying the view of the evocative Castle and the historic center that develops at its feet.
The Castle was one of the residences of the royal house of Savoy from 1792 to 1870, since 1997 it has been one of the buildings part of the Savoy residences site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
At the end of the walk you can take part in the village festival where you can taste a selection of the best dishes of the local gastronomic tradition offered by the proloco, singing and dancing with the tribute to Abba with the show Abba Dream
