As per tradition, the hamlet of Motta di Costigliole d’Asti celebrates the Peperone Quadrato d’Asti, a product of excellence in this part of the Tanaro Valley.
A traditional event now in its 79th edition that puts food and wine at the center of attention.
In a program packed with entertainment, culture, games and sports for all ages, the highlights of the event are the food and wine evenings where typical dishes based on peppers and other seasonal vegetables are offered.
From 7:00 PM opening of the food and wine stand.
Grilling under the stars: appetizers, first courses, main courses, fried frogs, desserts.
From 9:30 PM, the musical entertainment will begin with the Omar Codazzi Orchestra.
In collaboration with: IN.EL.PI and Heliwest.
The Motta di Costigliole Pepper Festival is 79 years old: it was organized for the first time just a few months after the end of World War II.
The production of Quadrato d’Asti was once very flourishing and profitable, so much so that in the 1960s and 1970s the Tanaro Valley area with Motta di Costigliole at its center was recognized as the “little California.”
Vegetables and the Asti Square Pepper represent, along with wines, a major winning asset of Costigliole’s traditional economy and are celebrated and honored during the four food and wine evenings.
