Run under the towers
The event, which is non-competitive and a recreational motor event, is open to all
Triangolo Sport Langhe Monferrato Roero A.S.D. is organizing the new edition of the running event “Corri sotto le torri” in Alba.
The event, non-competitive and recreational in nature, is open to everyone, provided they have medical clearance.
The popular and well-attended running event in the city of Alba has been part of the official Truffle Fair program since its first edition in 2008.
There is a preview for children on a short route and then the start on a beautiful course through the heart of the city and along its tree-lined avenues, 8 km long (and a reduced 4 km option).
The finish line, as tradition dictates, is in the heart of the city, in Piazza del Duomo, where participants are celebrated, refreshments are served, and everyone celebrates with music.
Meeting and departure
Participants will meet in Piazza Garibaldi from 8:30 AM.
- At 9:40 AM the race for the Corri sotto le torri Junior category will begin (up to 14 years old, including those born in 2012)
- At 10:00 AM the Adults Corri sotto le torri race will start
- At 10:01 AM the Alba nel cuore walk will start, following the race
Pathways
Run Under the Towers Junior: Start and finish in Garibaldi Square, Cavour Street with loop around the Cathedral, Manzoni Street and Cagnasso Square, KM. 1 approx.
Corri sotto le torri: Traditional 8 km route starting from Piazza Garibaldi and finishing in Piazza del Duomo.
Alba nel cuore: 8 km route (walk) same as the race, or you can return to the finish once you reach Piazza Michele Ferrero coming from Via Alfieri, approximately 4 km.
Solidarity
The Alba nel cuore Walk, with last year’s edition, completed the multi-year fundraising campaign for the Adopt a Room project at the new Alba Bra Hospital in Verduno, donating a total amount of €. 25.000,00.
Every year contributions are donated to volunteer groups that participate in the event.
Run under the towers Dog
Participation with your dog is allowed.
The dog owner must also register separately.
The registration fee for the dog is €5.00 and presenting the Dog voucher entitles you to receive:
- at the start in Garibaldi Square the special numbered bib and a complimentary collar.
- at the finish in Piazza del Duomo a rich race pack of Morando food products.
- on the finish stage in Piazza Duomo during the final awards ceremony a total of 20 kg of product by raffle.
Ristori
Water stations along the route: Piazza Ferrero on Via Alfieri side, Corso Enotria Casa Piccoli, Corso Piave.
Final refreshment station in Piazza del Duomo (Borgo Brichet), Banana Festival.
Entertainment
Speaker, music, guests, sports ambassadors and authorities, costumed performers, flag throwers, gymnasts, live radio broadcast, various exhibitions and surprises.
A real hot air balloon will be raised at the starting point in Piazza Garibaldi, and thanks to sponsor Generali Assicurazioni, you can climb aboard and experience the thrill of tethered flight, enjoying a view over the city.
Gadgets
Those registered for the Race and the Walk will receive 1 Conad discount voucher worth €10.00 when picking up their bib number (practically a refund of the registration fee) and will receive on race morning (while supplies last), by presenting their bib number in Piazza del Duomo at the equipped gazebo point, a beautiful exclusive Corri sotto le torri Alba nel cuore technical running shirt (preferably to be worn during the race), a copy of the event’s splendid glossy magazine and then Battaglio bananas, and Spazio Conad water station.
In addition, after the finish line, for the race, a commemorative medal will be waiting for them.
A Magnum prize of Barolo Silvano Bolmida will go to the first male and female finishers.
