For those who wish to spend a Ferragosto dedicated to good food, wine, and tranquility among the Roero hills, these are experiences not to be missed.
The Francesco Rosso winery was born with its current connotation in 2001, but behind it it has a history of family members closely linked to this territory and viticulture.
The winery can be reached by following the scenic roads leading to Santo Stefano Roero, an area characterized by small villages and the spectacular Rocche del Roero
One of the estate’s most representative grape varieties is Nebbiolo, which is present in the Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC, Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC Superiore Bastianetto, Roero DOCG ‘Nciarmà and Roero DOCG Riserva versions.
Roero DOCG, aged at least 18 months in barriques and tonneaux, is complex and intense with hints of violets, red fruit compote and spices.
Because of its important structure, it is excellent with game, roasts, stews and braises.
The Cà d’Dreja vineyard, literally Casa d’Andrea, produces Roero Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo.
Roero Arneis is also produced from the six-year-old Bastianetto vineyard and the Suere vineyard located in Montà d’Alba. Sauvignon and Nebbiolo are also made from the latter.
The farm is dedicated to the cultivation and sale of fruits and vegetables: strawberries, peppers and the Langhe round gentile hazelnut.
