From sunset to stars on the hills of one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, on the magical evening of San Giacomo, patron saint of the town, the saint of wayfarers and pilgrims.
Enchanting atmospheres and moments of joy.
After walking through and visiting the elegant historic center of Guarene, dominated by the unmistakable structure of the Castle of the Counts Roero, we will walk “The Path of Enchantment” at the most evocative moment of the day: sunset.
The path, in its first part, is a natural balcony over the Tanaro river valley, from which you can appreciate the Langa villages on the right bank of the river.
The passage through the vineyards and the woods makes the name of the path clear: you will truly be enchanted by the beauty of the panorama.
The path opens onto a wide and scenic ridge of vineyards, then climbs into the shade of one of the last hilltop woods in the town of Guarene.
Once we reach the crest, we will proceed toward central Roero crossing a row of majestic Madernassa pear trees, a prized local cultivar; between vineyards and hazelnut groves, the ridge opens the view to the hilltop villages of Santa Vittoria d’Alba, Vezza d’Alba and Monticello.
On the way back we will encounter numerous viewpoints that will give us unusual glimpses of the small villages of the Barbaresco and Moscato Langa.
We will walk the ridge path of San Licerio hill, a panoramic point from which you can enjoy fairytale sunsets.
The site offers a breathtaking view open over much of the territory, an open-air park on whose slopes excellent wines are produced.
Upon return, those who wish can join the patron saint festival in full joy tasting the food from the gastronomic stands: choice of appetizers, first and second courses and various snacks…naturally beer and wine and music.
